Pennsylvania election history since after world war II till 2000:

Presidential elections as well as other statewide offices were mixed between both parties.

In these stretch of years, Pennsylvania was the real definition of a swing state.

Interesting facts:

  • Pennsylvania elected the winner in every presidential election from 1936 until 2000 except in 2 occasions, Harry Truman's election in 1948 and Richard Nixon's 1'st election in 1968 (where he barely lost because of third party candidate George Wallace).
